Bloom's Taxonomy Cards
What are these?
What are these?
In ISTA 116 Statistical Foundations for the Information Age we focus on concept-based statistical reasoning & R coding. To help students strategize their studying, I teach them about Bloom's Taxonomy and how it applies to difficulty of different statistical tasks. Students use these flash cards at the end of each week both to test their knowledge and to identify whether they are learning material at a lower or higher level of understanding (e.g. if they are just memorizing vocabulary, or actually understand the concepts). The use of these flashcards has dramatically improved test scores & increased the complexity of questions students ask in office hours. Below are two week's examples.
